If you are familiar with NTFS file systems then you still might not be familiar with NTFS5. As you may well be aware, NTFS is a high performance file system that has self healing capabilities. NTFS is a property used for Windows XP, Windows Cista, Windows 2003, Windows 2000 and Windows 7. NTFS has advanced features that can support file level security providing much higher security options than other file systems. With an NTFS file system you are more protected against hackers and various other malicious users. Compression and auditing are also enhanced with an NTFS file system. NTFS can even support large volumes and storage solutions that are cutting edge technology like RAID. However, NTFS5 brings a whole new advanced version into the NTFS file system genre.

With NTFS5 Windows has new capabilities and is far more versatile than it ever was before. NTFS5 was introduced on Windows 2000 but it can be used today with Windows Vista and Windows 7. NTFS5 carries all of the features that the NTFS file system possessed so you don’t lose anything that the file system previously had. NTFS5 is far better than NTFS because of various performance upgrades as well as reliability improvements. The two enhancements help to improve security and permissions to extremes. You can feel very protected with an NTFS5 file system knowing that your journals, disk defragment tool, disk quotas, sparse files, reparse points, volume mount points and various other features have been upgraded. However, NTFS5 does have some problems that can lead to data loss and corruption that can leave you with no other option but to reformat. REMO is software that can perform NTFS file recovery, it can recover FAT32 partitions, and even SCSI data recovery.

With the fast advancement in technology, there is no end to the different types of devices and software that are coming into the market everyday. If the word ‘Data Recovery’ was restricted to only hard drives and floppy drives in earlier days, it now covers a wide range of devices and operating systems that are available today. Let us now look at the various Windows data recovery software that are available, to suit the needs of these devices.

The basic data recovery software deals with recovery of data from internal hard disks. They are usually available for Windows and Mac operating systems. They are the most widely used type of Windows data recovery software. The next most important type of data recovery software is photo recovery software which supports recovery of photos and other media files primarily from flash memory cards.

Besides these two important data recovery software, there are data recovery software that are available for recovery of data from USB drives, external hard drives and recovery of data from applications like Outlook and Outlook Express.

REMO Recover (Windows) Pro Edition software and REMO Recover (Mac) Pro Edition software are two professional data recovery software available for recovery of data from Windows and Mac operating systems. The data recovery software lets you recover documents and media files from hard drives, USB drives, flash memory cards, and external hard drives. The Windows data recovery software comes with an additional feature, which lets you create a disk image of the entire hard drive, which can later be used for recovery of data.

Our second factor discusses the idea that we will be attempting data recovery on many different types of devices. The most common form of data recovery is in hard drives with either a Windows FAT or Windows NTFS format. There exists data recovery software designed for hard drive recovery on disks using either of these storage formats. But what about USB flash drives. These are handy little solid-state drives that can hold up to 32 gigabytes of data. What type of data recovery do these require? And Camera smart cards? Are they formatted differently still? iPods lose files what shall we use for iPod recovery?
